The Google Algorithm, or method they use to determine SE rankings, is constantly changing and evolving. It is always hard to imagine what they will do next, and what aspects of search engine optimization to concentrate on.
Lets face it, there will always be some method of ranking websites, but what will make your site get to the top? Good, old fashioned, quality link building. No matter how your site is ranked in the major search engines, you can always get targeted, purchase driven traffic from getting relating links for your website.
And remember, don't concentrate all your link building efforts on one aspect, make sure you spread your site around to all sorts of different websites including blogs, bookmarks, article and link directories, reviews, forums and homepage or sitewide links. Don't go submitting your site to 10,000+ unqualified directories and websites, take the time to find the related, PR quality links.
